Friday, March 4: Stephen Elliott Webb show “Shell Shocked” 5:30-8pm
"An abstract celebration of the iconic oyster which feeds, filters, shelters, rejuvenates and then creates polished beauty trapped within a jagged shell." -Stephen Elliott Webb
Stephen Elliott Webb began painting Lowcountry scenes in a realistic style at an early age but always yearned to explore a more contemporary style. In 1990 Webb debuted his liberated style at Piccolo Spoleto in 1990 at age 20. His style developed and changed into the abstract expressionism Webb is known for today. Webb paints in a wide variety of mediums creating rich fluid layers, transforming the canvas into a sea of colors.
"Shell Shocked" will explore the importance of physical size, impact, and impression when it comes to fine art. Expect big things...
