In this new series of paintings, Charleston artist, Chris Groves, incorporates both realistic and abstract artistic styles to deconstruct and reconstruct his images, highlighting the shapes, forms, light and line of his landscapes. By finding the space that exists between abstraction and realism he creates intricate, ethereal scenes that move beyond the mere replication of a scene to convey message and meaning through composition, tone and brushstroke.
This Exhibit opens Friday May 6th with an Opening Reception from 5 to 8pm.
