Charleston Artist Guild | Jan Kelley and Sherri Bardsley

The Charleston Artist Guild Gallery is pleased to present Moments in Time, a collection of works by featured artists Jan Kelley and Sherri Bardsley.  Jan’s work features a collection of ink paintings and drawings as well as acrylic and pastel work. Sherri’s work is a collection of wildlife and animal portraits painted in oil.  The exhibit will run from September 1st through September 30th with an opening reception on Friday, September 7th from 5-8 PM.

Jan Kelley grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan and received her BS from Eastern MI in Special Education – Emotionally Impaired. Her Award winning pen and ink paintings tell a story with many hidden objects in the works.  They take you on a visual journey through the variation of line, color, space and technique - the essence of that moment in time that captured her eye and sparked her imagination. Along with raising children, Jan’s creativity and love for creating art continued to grow. She and her husband have lived in the Charleston area since 2003. Jan says, “Art has been a positive in my life and creating it is a godsend.”

Sherri Bardsley is a Charleston native, retired with over twenty years in law enforcement.  Returning to art, which she enjoyed during high school and college, Sherri found her retirement hobby and it soon became a second career.  Sherri says “Most of my paintings feature wildlife or pets.  My love of art and my love of animals have allowed me the ability to combine the two into one.  Nothing gives me greater pleasure than to be able to paint someone's pet for them, giving them a lasting memory.”

Please join us for the opening reception, which is open to the public, on Friday, September 7, 2018, at the Charleston Artist Guild Gallery from 5-8 pm. The gallery, located at 160 East Bay Street, is open daily from 11-6pm. Sales made at the gallery support the nonprofit Guild’s community outreach work.
