White Noise: Laurie Meyer Solo Exhibition Opens October 4
"I love color, and that is why I paint white,” says artist Laurie Meyer. “White subjects are clearly quite colorful!”
For her solo exhibition White Noise, Meyer has played with white and its many colors by visiting various subjects, from small-town churches to objects that caught her eye in the studio to white hydrangeas (a subject she’s perhaps best known for).
“To create convincing white objects, I must find the subtle nuances of the spectral colors reflecting into it and the color of light washing over it," she says.
An opening reception will be held on Friday, October 4, from 5 to 8pm, and the show runs until October 25. In addition to celebrating the opening of White Noise on October 4, Meyer Vogl Gallery will also celebrating the “closing” of Marissa Vogl’s solo exhibition, Wild Seed. Meyer and Vogl will both be in attendance.
